GAS ENGINE DRIVEN SEA WATER HEAT PUMPS

Objective

To use sea water as heat source for heat pumps in view to heat 2500 apartments.

3 heatpumps are driven by gas engines and produce each 1800 kW heat including the heat recovery in burned gas and jacket water. A gas engine driven electrical generator produces the electricity for the pumps and complementary heat. The heat is produced as hot water at max 60 C and fed into a district heating network connecting 25 heat-exchange substations interconnected to existing conventional boiler rooms for 2500 apartments. Innovation : large heat pumps using sea water and feeding a district heating-network.
