DEPOLLUTION OF EFFLUENTS FROM PULPING INDUSTRIES

Objective

DEVELOPMENT OF AN ECONOMIC PROCESS FOR ABATMENT OF THE POLLUTION GENERATED BY THE EFFLUENTS OF THE PRODUCTION OF CHEMICAL-THERMAL-MECHANICAL PULPS, AND FOR THE RECOVERY OF FIBRES.

A. DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF AN ECONOMIC METHOD FOR THE TREATMENT OF POLLUTION GENERATED BY THE CTMP PROCESS, 4 STEPS WILL BE CONSIDERED:

- CLOSURE OF THE WATER SYSTEM AND STUDY OF ITS EQUILIBRIUM AND OF ITS INFLUENCE ON THE CONCENTRATION AND THE COMPOSITION OF THE WATERS USED FOR THE PROCESSING OF THE PULP;

- CLEANING OF THE WATER SYSTEMS BY ULTRAFILTRATION TECHNIQUES;

- TREATMENT OF THE EFFLUENT BY AEROBIC OR ANAEROBIC PROCESS;

- TECHNICO-ECONOMICAL ASSESSMENT OF THE TOTAL PROCESS IN VIEW OF ESTABLISHING ITS ECONOMICS.

B. DEPOLLUTION OF EFFLUENTS FROM PULP AND PAPER INDUSTRIES AND SELECTIVE RECOVERY OF FIBRES:

- TO STUDY, FIRST AT THE LAB SCALE THEN AT A PILOT PHASE A DEPOLLUTING DEVICE FOR PULP AND PAPER INDUSTRIES EFFLUENTS VIA: SEPARATION, RECOVERY AND VALORISATION OF THE ENCLOSED HIGH QUALITY FIBRES.

1.1 CRITICAL REVIEW OF EXISTING DEVICES

1.2 REALISATION OF A LAB SCALE FILTRATING MODULE (5001/H)
- STUDY OF ITS PERFORMANCES ON DIFFERENT EFFLUENTS
- ADAPTATION OF A SELF-CLEANING DEVICE
- BALANCE SHEET OF THE PERFORMANCES.

2. PILOT PHASE

BUILDING OF A LARGE FLOW FILTRATING MODULE (30 M3/H) AND ASSEMBLING OF 3 MODULES (100 M3/H)

2.1 BUILDING OF THE PILOT PROTOTYPE (100 M3/H)

2.2 OPTIMISATION OF ITS EFFICIENCY.
