Objective
TO DEVELOP A TECHNOLOGY FOR RECOVERING CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS FROM WASTE WATERS BY CHANGING TEMPERATURE IN THE ADSORBING RESINS BED.
PARAMETRIC PUMPING IS A LABORATORY TECHNIQUE FOR REMOVAL OF A SOLUTE IN LIQUID BASED ON THE DEPLACEMENT OF EQUILIBRIUM ISOTHERMS WITH TEMPERATURE CHANGES IN THE ADSORBING RESINS BED, WHICH MUST OCCUR IN PHASE WITH CHANGES IN THE FLOW DIRECTION OF THE SOLUTION.THE SOLUTE CONCENTRATION INCREASES AT ONE EXTREMITY OF THE BED AND DECREASES AT THE OTHER END.
THIS TECHNOLOGY WILL BE ASSESSED FOR MULTI COMPOUNDS AND LARGE VOLUME SOLUTIONS, DEFINING THE CONDITIONS AND OPTIMIZING THE PARAMETERS FOR POLLUTANTS RECOVERY WITH A MAXIMUM EFFICIENCY.
TWO LABORATORIES (IN PORTUGAL AND SPAIN) WILL COLLABORATE TO PERFORM EXPERIMENTS WITH ONE SCIENTIFIC COORDINATOR.
