Optimal acoustic equivalent source descriptors for automotive noise modelling

Objective

The objectives of this project is to develop a Hybrid Analysis and Testing (HAT) tool based on the combination between up-to-date acquisition and measurement techniques and a novel robust Inverse Boundary Element Method (IBE). This tool will be used to determine source descriptors of virtual sources equivalent of the three major vehicle sources in running conditions: the engine, the exhaust line and tires. The project will be executed by a consortium of 2 developers specialized in acoustic software development and in sensors and measurement techniques which will develop the HAT tool, a University which will study reference cases and 3 industrial partner: a tire manufacturer for the tire noises and two car manufacturers for the engine noise and exhaust noise applications.
