Objective Thermal corrosion is a common phenomenon widely present elsewhere and in particular in systems with elevated temperatures. Annual losses from thermal corrosion amount to 200.000.000 EURO annually. Typically the thermal anticorrosion protection involves expensive materials and rather cumbersome technologies. The proposed work is directed towards improvement of anticorrosion technologies making it toxic-free, low-cost and highly reliable. This will lead not to only better protection of metallic substrates but a possible wide use in related industries where due to high temperatures metals are most vulnerable. The technology is based on the fabrication of nanocrystalline ceramic materials and a Laser direct densification/fabrication technology that was never available before. The technology will be rigorously tested and the SMEs employees will become familiar with its use. About 1.5 years are needed to reach the market after the completion of STEP 2.
