Objectif The Centre of Excellence in the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences devoted to applications of advanced spectroscopy in physics, materials science, biology and environmental protection is proposed. The main objective of the Centre is investigation of novel materials, atomic and molecular species, clusters, chaotic systems, and biological samples using advanced spectroscopic methods such as optical, microwave, X-ray and Laplace spectroscopy. The Centre aims to strengthen international collaboration by organisation of international conferences (e.g. Workshop on Structure and Function of Bio molecules, Workshop on Advanced Spectroscopy of Novel Materials) and by exchange of scientists and Ph.D. students with other European centres. The Centre is engaged in education in physics (via the Cardinal S. Wyszynski University and organisation of International Schools) and popularisation of physics.
