Objective A ^41K and a ^87Rb Bose-Einstein condensate are simultaneously loaded into an optical standing wave. Phase separation, super fluid penetration and controlled collisions are investigated. The change of the interspecies interaction near a Feshbach resonance is studied with respect to the possible formation of a heteronuclear molecular condensate.
