Obiettivo The main goal of the project is to investigate in detail processes in the neighbourhood of young stellar objects (YSO). They include outflows, accretion and even the development of protostellar discs. In particular, the interaction of the outflows with the surrounding material will be studied both observationally and theoretically. In addition, the characteristics of the outflows themselves will be investigated. An observational programme to search for protostellar disks and collapsing objects will be performed. In order to improve the efficiency of millimetre wave observations some technical developments are planned, in particular a prototype multi-beam 3 mm receiver with a multi-channel acousto-optical spectrometer for the 22 m telescope in Crimea. In parallel, a multi-beam system for the 20 m telescope in Onsala will be developed. The research will be performed by means of multi-line millimetre and sub millimetre wave spectroscopic observations of a carefully selected sample of outflow sources. The observations will include mapping in various lines and high-quality measurements of the line profiles in search for the signs of outflows, rotation, accretion and small-scale clumsiness. These observations will be performed with large single-dish telescopes as well as with interferometers. The data analysis will be based on the numerical modelling of the radiative transfer using the Monte Carlo and other computer codes developed in the participating groups.Special attention will be paid to the spatial distribution of different molecular species and transitions tracing different constituents and their dynamics in the molecular material surrounding YSO's. Studies of the line profiles in comparison with the predictions of theoretical models will be used for choosing the most appropriate model of a shocked region and to identify protostellar disk candidates. Dynamical and thermal structure of the interface region between the accretion disk and stellar outflow will be thoroughly investigated.Comparison of positions of strong methanol masers with methanol abundant regions producing thermal lines will be used to investigate the origin of the masers and to understand which parts of the YSO environment are traced by the exciting maser phenomenon (in particular, using the European VLBI network).Evolutionary status of dense clumps surrounding YSO will be elucidated on the basis of the analysis of the molecular abundances and source kinematics. The outcome of the research programme is a detailed picture of shocks produced by massive newly born stars. This picture contains knowledge of the structure, dynamics, thermodynamic properties and chemical composition of the regions where stellar winds and protostellar outflows interact with the surrounding dense molecular gas.Prototype multi-beam front-ends (focal plane arrays) will be built on the basis of single-beam SIS receivers which are at the disposal of the participating groups by combining technical experience and efforts of these groups. An acousto-optical spectrometer for use with a multi-beam focal plane array will be developed Programma(i) IC-INTAS - International Association for the promotion of cooperation with scientists from the independent states of the former Soviet Union (INTAS), 1993- Argomento(i) 1A - Nuclear Physics, Astronomy, Astrophysics OPEN - OPEN Call Invito a presentare proposte Data not available Meccanismo di finanziamento Data not available Coordinatore CHALMERS UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo 439 92 ONSALA Svezia Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato Partecipanti (7) Classifica in ordine alfabetico Classifica per Contributo UE Espandi tutto Riduci tutto Crimean Astrophysical Observatory Ucraina Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo RT-22 334247 Katsiveli, Crimea Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato Institute of Radio Astronomy Ucraina Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Chervonopraporna 4 310002 Kharkov Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato Osservatorio Astrofisico di Acerti Italia Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Largo E Fermi 25 55100 Firenze Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato Rostov State University Russia Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Zorge Street 5 344090 Rostov-on-Don Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato Russian Academy of Sciences Russia Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Ulyanov Street, 46 603600 Nizhny Novgorod Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato Saint-Petersburg State Technical University Russia Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Polytechnicheskaya Street 195251 St. Petersburg Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato Ural State University Russia Contributo UE Nessun dato Indirizzo Lenin pr. 51 620083 Ekaterinburg Mostra sulla mappa Costo totale Nessun dato
