New approaches to curriculum design and development for agricultural teacher education in Russia

Exploitable results

New approaches to conception of agricultural teacher education, agricultural teacher profiles, curriculum organisation (modular approach) and new methods of the teaching and learning process have been developed. These approaches are connected with great changes in society, policy and economy and the nature of agricultural education in Russia. Wide international cooperation of Dutch, German and Russian scientists made it possible to find optimal scientific solutions of problems connected with the INTAS project programme. It also was possible to improve ecological education in Russia taking into consideration all progressive experience of Russian and western partners. As the main result of joint activities a new curriculum for Pedagogical Department of Moscow agricultural academy K. A. Timiryazev was developed and realized in an educational process. It involves elements of democratization and individualization of education, new courses and new teaching methods. Especially developed was a new study program on the didactics of ecology based environmental care. Due to excellent coordinating activities and support on the part of Western European project partners the main aims of the INTAS project have been achieved and professional knowledge of Russian participants is enriched with foreign experience.
