Objective The objective is to install passive and active solar systems in a historic monument. The deliverable will be an approved energy plan for the building and its system, including all relevant drawings, model photography and computer simulations. There will be a very strong interdependence between the decisions on the appropriate architectural solution and the optimum energy design to accord with the government's decision process. The emphazis is on daylighting, passive solar use, natural ventilation, night cooling and making intelligent use of thermal massies and combined active/passive wiithout attesing the existing facades systems of daylighting, natural ventilation, use of thermal mass and combined pv-shading systems should be investigated.
