The project aimed to develop an en-ergyefficient design for an historicbuilding, the new German Parliament,by means of the integration of a widerange of renewable energy technolo-gies,mostly introducing passive andactive solar systems as well as energyconservation methods. The emphasiswas on daylighting, passive solar use,natural ventilation, night cooling andmaking intelligent use of thermalmasses and combined active/passivesystems without affecting the existingfaçades.
