Sustainable Combined Heat Absorption Refrigeration And Power

Objective

This project will research and demonstrate an innovative concept for an Energy Services Company providing local energy networks, comprising combined heat and power (CHP), absorption cooling, heat and chilled water networks and private wire to a superstore. It will provide not only CHP services for electricity, heating and air conditioning but also for refrigeration to reduce both energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions as well as the use of refrigerants. The project will also demonstrate how such a system can act as the catalyst for a local community energy system providing energy services to both nearby businesses and local housing to achieve a complementary balance of different types of consumer loads in a move towards sustainability in energy in a fully deregulated energy market. This will establish an important economic and environmental model for the emerging deregulated energy market in the European Union.
