Objectif To carry out trials in realistic conditions of a non intrusive and non radioactive measurement system in order to determine on an ongoing basis the liquid/gas ratio inside mutliphase production lines. This instrument is important for security and environment in the sense that it will permit the elimination of flow and pressure shocks due to large gas pockets and slugs. We have proved that our active slug detection system is capable of measuring the instantaneous liquid/gas ratio like a gamma-ray densitometer. Our system is now ready for commercialisation.A need has already been expressed by TOTAL and QATARGAS.Phase 1 : Design phaseThe study of the different parts of the instrumentation will be carried out in order to have the optimum efficiency/cost ratio.Phase 2 : Manufacturing phaseThe designed instrumentation and especially the mechanical interfaces will be manufactured.Phase 3 : Assembly phaseThe assembly of the instrumentation will be done at SYMINEX and a first trial will be made on two pipes before engaging the next phase.Phase 4 : Calibration phaseThe complete instrumentation will be calibrated on a test loop before testing it on site.Phase 5 : Field trials phaseRealistic trials will be done on two of TOTAL's fields in order to validate industrially this measurement system.
