I intend to molecular phenotypically analyse transgenic mouse mutants lacking genes implicated in myogenesis. thereby the assumed linkage of the specification of different muscle cell types to distinct myotomal subregions can be tested and mouse models for the aetiology and molecular basis of human progressive muscle diseases are provided.
