Characterisation of microglia-neuron interactions in an inflammatory environment: neurotoxicity and neuroprotection

Objective

In Multiple Sclerosis, one of the most disabling neurological diseases, axon loss is abundant. This study will investigate, whether microglia, the main immune effector cell in the CNS, could be responsible for neuronal injury. Inter- and intracellular signalling events will be studied.
