Researchers' Night 2012 Szczecin Time

Objetivo

Try to imagine living without mobiles, the Internet, robot surgeons or notebooks. It is impossible, indeed. The job of researcher is, no doubt, pivotal in the development of any society. Civilizations need them and so they should pay them tribute as their achievements make lives easier, longer and healthier. The best way to demonstrate significance of the job is to make its doors open to the public. The idea standing behind the call of the Researchers’ Night (RN) serves its purpose. The proposed Science Hunt has four basic goals to achieve: 1)show the job significance, 2)integrate the world of science and the public sustaining the European visibility, 3)attract the young to embark on the research career and 4)”edutain”. The following activities will help: 1)Science Hunt Game (6 routes of scientific attractions and a RN bus travel), 2)knowledge mine (a scientific town – a concoction of education and entertainment), 3)scientists ‘after work’ (a series of attractions letting the heroes of the Night have fun), 4)music and cabaret to keep the festive character. If we add the main venue in the form of a XIV-century castle, success guaranteed. Science Hunt will take place in Szczecin. It is coordinated by one university – Zachodniopomorski Uniwersytet Technologiczny.
