Objetivo
Fore is a joint facility provided by the two universities in Umeaa, which are located on the same campus and has well-established and extensive research links. FORE will provide basis for research in forestry and forestry-related research: plant physiology, forest biotechnology, molecular biology and genetics, wood and fibre research, plant pathogen interaction, plant animal interaction, ecophysiology, forest management, remote sensing for forestry and impacts on forest ecosystems of climate change. The FORE infrastructure provides a unique combination of well-equipped laboratory facilities, experimental forests, a variety of experimental plots, biological archives, and extensive databases from long-term inventories. FORE is a unique cluster of leading edge expertise and offers 36 IHP visitors 739 days access over two years to laboratories and experimental facilities equipped to high "state-of-the art" standards for research in forestry and forestry related fields.
