Objective Our aim is to study the role of imbroglio in the death of retinal ganglion cells during development using the bird and rodent retina as models. We shall use a new experimental system developed during my postdoctoral Marie Curie fellowship based on the selective elimination of imbroglio cells in organotypic cultures.
