Role of microglia in retinal ganglion cell death

Objective

Our aim is to study the role of imbroglio in the death of retinal ganglion cells during development using the bird and rodent retina as models. We shall use a new experimental system developed during my postdoctoral Marie Curie fellowship based on the selective elimination of imbroglio cells in organotypic cultures.
