MEP Awards 2006 – Nominations now open for best research and technology MEP!
The Parliament Magazine is launching a new research and technology category for its MEP Awards 2006. Launched last year, the MEP Awards aim to highlight and celebrate the work of MEPs in various policy areas. The new category, research and technology, has been launched to award the MEP who has done good work throughout the past year, by for example, leading a report, or being involved and enthusiastic in this policy field. A shortlist of 3 MEPs in each category is made up from gathering nominations from not-for-profit stakeholders in each of the policy sectors. The vote for the winners is made by MEPs and their assistants in September and the Awards ceremony will take place on October 10th at the Brussels Renaissance Hotel. In order to nominate MEPs please email your names (2-3 per organisation) with a short justification to mepawards@parliamentmag.com or by going online to http://www.parliamentmag.com/mepawards/ Nominations will close in mid-June. Other categories for the awards include amongst others; Environment, Justice and Fundamental Rights, Health and Campaigner of the Year who will be nominated by a panel of journalists from around Europe.
