Standardization in future FP7 funded projects
Standardization makes a key contribution to research and innovation, and has been identified as a key contributor to the “Innovation Union” initiative within the new EU Strategy for 2020. Standardization can create the necessary bridge between research and innovation, and therefore contribute to the competitiveness of the EU on a global scale. At a time when the new wave of calls under EU Framework Programme 7 has just been launched, CEN and CENELEC have decided to put into place a new team to support and inform the research community in understanding and integrating standardization in their future research and innovation project. Some of the FP7 calls published mention standards and standardization as work activities or targeted outputs for the future projects. Do you know how to include standardization in your future project proposal? Through dedicated tools, including web pages and a Research Helpdesk, CEN and CENELEC are at the disposal of researchers and companies willing to ensure their project benefits from standardization. The team provides tailored advice to project consortia, informing them of already relevant standards work, and helping them put together new projects for standards on innovative products. You can contact our Research Helpdesk at research@cencenelec.eu; You can visit the dedicated webpages at www.cen.eu/go/research and www.cenelec.eu/go/research
