MIRAGE creates tool for broadcasting production
By developing a generic, platform-independent and cost-effective tool for broadcasting production, the ESPRIT-funded MIRAGE project will allow for the concurrent production and partly simultaneous delivery of radio, television and online content. This tool will hopefully be of interest to broadcasters and productions houses. Using a content and format driven process, MIRAGE first developed a format/programme concept incorporating the three media, and using the strengths of each medium. Technology then had to meet content needs and requirements. A first pilot production has already been broadcast live on radio and the Internet, and filmed for post-production and user validation. The results of this pilot project will be fed into the next development, which hopefully will include the full integration of television and result in another pilot production.
