The Directorate-General for Agriculture plans to employ outside contractors to test remote sensing of crop coverage. Each member State represents one lot, for which a separate tender may be made. Several sectors (e.g. durum wheat, set-aside, grubbing of vines) shall be included in a single checking operation. The contractor will be involved in selecting the sample to be checked and will supply documents to enable plots and crop coverage to be identified as far as possible without it being necessary to visit the grower or his plots.Further information from: Commission of the European Communities Directorate-General Agriculture - Unit VI-G-4 Office Loi 120 11/13 200 rue de la Loi B-1049 Brussels Fax +32-2-2364267; Telex COMEU B 21877
