Commission calls for study on SME access to public contracts
The European Commission's Enterprise DG has issued a call to tender for a study contract on access to public contracts for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). The invitation to tender aims at selecting an organisation or network of institutions able to: - create a statistical database on enterprises which had access to public contracts published in the 'Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Communities' in 1999; - carry out a statistical analysis on SMEs' access to such contracts; - identify the best practices which aim to improve SMEs' access to public contracts; - propose performance indicators to measure how far SME participation in public contracts has progressed.For further information, please contact: European Commission Enterprise Directorate-General rue de la Loi/Wetstraat 200 B-1049 Brussels Tel: +32-2-295 5155 Fax +32-2-295 4590
