Work programmes for FP6 specific programmes 1 and 2 adopted
The work programmes for the Sixth Framework Programme's specific programmes 'Focusing and integrating community research' and 'Structuring the European Research Area' were adopted by the Commission on 6 December. The two work programmes contain details of the areas in which the Commission envisages supporting research projects and the funding mechanisms that will be employed. A detailed breakdown is given of each priority thematic area, cross cutting research activity and activities to structure the European Research Area (ERA) and strengthen the foundations of the ERA. The work programmes will enable interested parties to begin initial preparations for submitting calls for proposals. The first calls will be published on 17 December.
