On 25 January 1991 the Commission launched an initiative to improve the range of services offered to enterprises (PRISMA). Loans and grants are available for measures in Objective 1 regions only (regions where development is lagging). Aims are: Support for testing and certification infrastructures (calibration and metrology services aiding businesses and laboratories to show clients that they are able to meet technical quality standards); preparation of SMEs for the opening-up of public procurement and the suppression of measures within the meaning of Article 115 (EEC Treaty).Correspondence should be addressed to: Mr. E.
