Biomass for energy and industry
The Seventh European Conference on Biomass for Energy and Environment, Agriculture and Industry was held in Florence on 5-9 October 1992. The conference proceedings, entitled "Biomass for energy and industry", have now been published. The conference brought together over 550 international biomass scientific and technical experts. The following issues were discussed and are covered in the proceedings: - Biomass resources; - The impact of biomass for socio-economic development and the environment; - Biomass projects in Europe; - Macro- and microeconomic aspects; - Biomass in developing countries; - Biomass conversion for energy needs; - Strategies for biomass implementation; - Biomass markets for non-energy needs. The proceedings form an important part of the Community's biomass energy activities. They will form the basis for the future research, development and commercial implementation of biomass as a modern and environmentally acceptable fuel.
