Implementation of Technology White Paper for "Trains and Railway Systems of the Future" Task Force
Within the framework of the specific RTD programme in the field of transport, and the Task Force on "Trains and Railway Systems of the Future", the European Commission, DG VII, has published a pre-qualification notice concerning implementation of the Technology White Paper for the Task Force. The objectives are twofold: - To prepare a prospective study on railway-related technologies. Main emphasis should be allocated to the following points: . The contribution that technology acquisition may give to the achievement of major business and operational goals; . A review of the state of the art on a worldwide basis (including fixed and logistics infrastructure and rolling-stock-related technology); . Identification of priority areas for R&D; - To provide support to the Commission services in scientific and technical activities in the framework of the Task Force expert panels.
