Launch of INFOSEC homepage on WWW
On 9 July 1996, DG XIII of the European Commission launched a new World Wide Web site providing extensive information on the INFOSEC programme for the security of telecommunications and information systems. The aim of the INFOSEC programme, launched in 1992, is to develop overall strategies which provide users and producers of electronically stored, processed or transmitted information with appropriate information security systems. The homepage provides details of INFOSEC activities and services, and includes information on INFOSEC projects carried out during 1992, 1993 and 1994. It also provides examples of the evaluation results of relevant information systems. In addition, the homepage includes information on forthcoming calls for proposals, and actions planned for the future.
