Adopt-IT Training Videos now available on the website
Brussels, (Belgium), 2004 February Adopt-IT, the communication programme financed by the European Community aimed at promoting 26 European Research Projects over the last two years, best practices identified among the RTD projects funded under KAIII of the IST Programme, will end on February 29th thus celebrating successful two year run. One of its latest activities includes a MarCom and PR Kit inclusive of three training videos downloadable at http://www.adopt-it.info. These communications tools will serve as an excellent manual to all those who wish to know the fundamental rules of communicating with the media and potential investors alike. Furthermore they aim to help understand media relations better and can instruct one on how to optimise ones own marketing and communications activities. The MarCom and PR Kits contain important suggestions and advice on how best to manage your media relations, the principles of management of a PR programme, basic rules on how to lay out a press release and some ideas about communications programmes in general. In the Marketing Communication section of the website, documentation on how to edit and draft an effective presentation and how to prepare for an important meeting are also downloadable. Other documents in this section deal with topics such as suggestions on how to delegate tasks and responsibilities, and rules that help managers face with tough people decisions when dealing with specific individuals in actual situations. Three training videos, which complete the MarCom and PR kit, are also available on the website. The video entitled How to communicate to investors outlines fundamental information one needs to know before meeting with a potential investor. The video has parts dedicated to The content of your presentation, Face-to-face meetings, Should do: advanced stage of communicating with investor. How to communicate to the Media is a guide to media relations and includes the dos and donts of press releases, how to talk with journalists and the one-to-one approach. How to communicate through a video explains the tricks of preparing and producing a video for a European Research Project. The research and development projects funded by the Interactive Electronic Publishing sector focus primarily on generating, managing, personalising creative digital content. Whilst the objectives are common - the application areas are wide - encompassing scientific and business information, news, advertising, entertainment, information for the citizen and geographic information. The IEP sector has issued a number of RTD lines in the yearly IST work programmes, covering the main RTD issues represented within the IEP value chain: Authoring and design systems and Content management and personalisation.
