In compliance with the Council Directive on the initial stage of the mutual recognition of type approval for telecommunications terminal equipment (86/361/EEC of 24 July 1986) the Commission gives advice that the NET (Normes Europeennes de Telecommunications) entitled "NET 10: European 900 Mhz Digital Cellular Mobile Telecommunications Network Access and Telephony Characteristics", is to be regarded as the equivalent of common conformity specifications, used in the Community by the authority competent for testing the conformity of telecommunication equipment. It is applicable from 22 April 1992. This NET specifies the technical characteristics (radio frequency, modulation, method of access and signalling, as well as logical and acoustic characteristics) to be offered by voice and non-voice terminal equipment to a European 900 Mhz digital mobile telecommunications network.
