Kent Start-Up Challenge

The Kent Start-Up Challenge, now in its third year, offers entrepreneurs who have an innovative or clever idea all the support needed to turn the idea or business start-up into a viable business venture, including free rent at one of three SEEDA Enterprise Hubs across the UK.

Win £100,000 in business support to give your business idea a flying start. If you have a great idea and wish to turn it into a business or if you have already made that first step and recently started your own business, then the Kent Start-Up Challenge could be for you. The Challenge is open to businesses established and trading for less than 24 months or with the intention to commence trading within the next 12 months. 1st prize: - Free rent for one year at either Sittingbourne Enterprise Hub, Canterbury Enterprise Hub, or East Malling Enterprise Hub to the value of £10,000 ,- Legal advice and assistance from Cripps Harries Hall to the value of £10,000 ,- Business development and sales advice to the value of £7,500 from EMC Management Consultants ,- Up to 10 days free business mentoring from Business Link Kent ,- Free business and banking support from NatWest for 18 months ,- Accounting and tax planning advice from Reeves & Neylan, voted Lexis Nexis best tax team 2004, to the value of £5,000 ,- Advice and assistance on UK or overseas patent, trade mark, design, or copyright protection from Brookes Batchellor LLP to a value of £3,000 ,- Membership of the Locate in Kent corporate membership programme for one year providing excellent networking opportunities 2nd prize: - Free rent for six months at the Sittingbourne Enterprise Hub and Cabterbury Enterprise Hub to the value of £5,000 ,- Legal advice and assistance from Cripps Harries Hall to the value of £5,000 ,- Business development and sales advice to the value of £2,500 from EMC Management Consultants ,- Up to five days free business mentoring from Business Link Kent ,- Free business and banking support from NatWest bank for 18 months ,- Accounting and tax planning advice from Reeves & Neylan, voted -Lexis Nexis best tax team 2004, to the value of £1,500 ,- Advice and assistance on UK or overseas patent, trade mark, design, or copyright protection from Brookes Batchellor LLP to a value of £2,000 ,- Membership of the Locate in Kent corporate membership programme for six months Other Prizes: Runners up may be offered business support from sponsors on a case by case basis.
