Earth Sciences and Energy-related Subsurface Technologies

Smart Reservoir Net, an FP5 Thematic Network on sustainable exploitation of natural resources, is organising a conference in Athens on 25 May in cooperation with IENE (the Institute of Energy for South-East Europe).

The objective of this workshop is to facilitate discussions that span different disciplines, identify potential joint projects, and evaluate the possibility of applying technologies used in the field of sub-surface exploitation to relevant other sciences and industries.
The Workshop represents the official launch of the work on the Network's Vision Master Plan, which is planned to be published at the end of this year. The intention is to provide a document which is not only addressing the Oil & Gas industry but which is at the same time relevant for other disciplines and industries. The Network's Vision Master Plan should facilitate the sharing of experiences with industries facing the same technological challenges in order to jointly address these challenges in common research.
The papers to be presented will include:,- Geothermal fields in Greece,- Geological storage of CO2,- Upstream activities and policy
