AVISTA presents consolidated overview of NAVSHP projects' standardization efforts

The EU-funded project AVISTA presents an overview of all standardization activities that are being carried out by FP6 projects within the NAVSHP (Networked Audio Visual Systems and Home Platforms) Strategic Objective.

The overview shows a vast amount of valuable contributions to standardization bodies and standardization initiatives, all addressing and supporting open and interoperable solutions in the (European) Information Society.
The overview is based on all projects' responses to a questionnaire that AVISTA issued specifically to address the standardization activities carried out by the projects. As it is a public deliverable from the AVISTA project, the document containing the overview can be found on the AVISTA website. Internal to AVISTA, the overview will be used to further elaborate the standardization efforts. This will result in an additional deliverable containing recommendations to improve the impact on standardization bodies by (joint) efforts from EU-funded R&D projects.
AVISTA is a Specific Support Action project within the NAVSHP strategic objective, funded by the European Commission FP6 programme. It aims at supporting the FP6 projects in the area in a number of topics: concertation, projects portfolio, standarization, New Media Council, common exhibitions, etc. AVISTA partners are: ROSE Vision (Coordinator), TELVIUM, INSTITUT FUER RUNDFUNKTECHNIK GMBH (IRT), PHILIPS ELECTRONICS NEDERLAND B.V. TELEDIFFUSION DE FRANCE.
