A conference entitled 'The electronic re-evolution - news media in the digital age' will take place from 7 to 9 August 2012 in Mikkeli, Finland.

The internet has led to a significant change in business models and ways of working for the news media. Significant shifts in viewer and reader tastes have meant both challenges and opportunities.

The event will cover a number of topics, including:
- new user behaviour;
- new business models;
- crowd-sourcing cultural heritage;
- digitalisation;
- multimedia;
- indexing historical records;
- multilingual user interfaces;
- licensing and digital libraries;
- legal deposit of newspaper;
- research as a strategic tool.
