Microscopy is an essential tool for analysis of cellular structure and function. With the advent of new fluorescent probes and super-resolution light microscopy techniques, the study of dynamic processes in living cells has been greatly facilitated. Today, electron microscopes use a beam of electrons to create an image of specimens which helps scientists gain new information on biological systems and their cellular regulation.
The event will discuss how processes can be studied by including the time factor in electron microscopy, by using nanoparticle labels or through a combination of different microscopy methods. That includes, for example, correlative fluorescence microscopy and electron microscopy.
