A European conference on the educational use of streaming technology

The eStream partnership, funded as a project within SOCRATES/MINERVA since October 2003, is delighted to invite teachers, researchers, decision makers and multimedia publishers from all over Europe to the “eSTREAM Open European Conference on Streaming Technology in Education”.

Austria
The conference will take place from 14-16 June 2006 (cultural programme on 17 June 2006) at the University of Patras, Conference and Cultural Center, Greece.

Aims and target groups of the conference
The aim of the conference is to bring together educational experts and teachers, researchers, multimedia publishers and decision makers from all over Europe in order to exchange experiences and to share state-of-the-art practise of the educational use of streaming media/technology in Europe. The topics include educational, technical and organisational aspects, questions related to the usability and the impact of streaming technology on learning and teaching.
The dissemination of state-of-the-art practise about the educational use of streaming technology in Europe to teachers and decision makers will be a core objective of the event.
The programme of the conference will allow for discussions and competence-building around various aspects related to the educational use of streaming technology.

The University of Patras is hosting the conference and is responsible for its organisation.

Cultural programme
There will be opportunities to visit Patras, the cultural capital of Europe 2006 and to enjoy not only the Greek lifestyle in a restored city, but also one of the artistic performances organised currently in a variety of fields (drama, music, dance, lyrics, exhibtions, and more).
Furthermore, there will be an opportunity to visit Delphi on Saturday, 17 June 2006. The tour will provide an informal forum for further networking. You will be offered to register for the cultural visit to Delphi when registering on the spot in Patras for the conference.

Accommodation:

Costs:
The conference fee amounts to 150 €.
The fee includes the Welcome reception (cocktail) on Wednesday, the conference dinner on Thursday, coffee and refreshments, conference facilities with wireless LAN, as well as conference proceedings and material.
