Mathematics and science workshop, Palermo, Italy
Technology-enhanced learning (TEL) systems have been developed in the domains of mathematics and science (MAS). These domains are unique and important to education from a number of viewpoints. They are formal and well-defined, allowing for greater flexibility in knowledge representation and adaptation technologies. Both are core prerequisites for engineering and technological disciplines, and are taught to a great number of students.
In recent years, the number of students and qualified teachers in MAS have been declining, putting a stress of main sources in intellectual capital in industrialised countries. Funding for intelligent tutoring systems and other forms of educational technology in mathematics, science and engineering is critically important to the future of the EU.
The goal of this conference is to inform stakeholders about the landmark project in the field of technology-enhanced learning in maths and sciences, provide a platform for discussing new and emerging approaches and examine on the emerging on information technologies. For further information, please visit: http://telmas.celtech.de/telmas2011(opens in new window)
