The Social Dialogue and European Training Programmes
The labour market organizations are vital actors in the development of vocational training and education in Europe. Within the framework of the Social Dialogue, the EU training programmes offer an obvious opportunity for cooperation. The aim of the conference is to define the importance of the role of the social partners in developing transnational training activities to support the Social Dialogue, and to discuss the future expectations of labour market organizations with regard to European vocational training and education programmes.
The conference programme includes four workshops addressing the following themes:
- Extension and awareness of training: the recognition of and access to qualifications;
- Significance of training in the context of changes in work organization;
- The role of training in promoting employment possibilities and combating exclusion and marginalization;
- Development of new training methods and tools.
In each workshop experience and results from ongoing project under the European training programmes, notably the LEONARDO DA VINCI programme, will be discussed.
The conference is organized by the Danish confederation of Trade Unions and the Danish Employers' Confederation in cooperation with the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), the Union of Industrial and Employers Confederations of Europe (UNICE) and the European Centre of Enterprises with Public Participation CEEP. It is supported by the European Commission (DG XXII), within the framework of the LEONARDO DA VINCI programme for the implementation of a European Community vocational training policy.
