BLI configurations of classical tube and wing aircraft architecture - Wind tunnel tests insight into propulsor inlet distortion and power saving
Boundary Layer Ingestion aircraft configurations aim to reduce the propulsive system power consumption, but face the challenge of the propulsive fan ingesting a distorded flow. This project will focus on the BLI configurations of tube and wing aircraft architectures. Through wind tunnel tests, it should allow a better understanding of the dependencies of the fan inlet distortion pattern and power saving, on the aircraft as well as the propulsor main geometric characteristics and operating points. The knowledges will serve for the “DX2 Boundary Layer Ingestion” demonstrator. Please refer to the full topic descriptions document published in this call.
