Critical Raw Material Value Chains Facility

The activities under this facility will focus on the EU list of critical and strategic raw materials as set out in annex II of the Critical Raw Materials Act and will cover the entire raw materials value chain (exploration, extraction, processing, refining, recycling) as well as the surrounding enabling environment (skills, training, infrastructure, transport, energy etc.). The facility has a global scope and will cover countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa, Asia and the Pacific, as well as the EU neighbourhood. A focus will be on i) countries with whom the EU has already signed a strategic partnership (Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Namibia, Chile, Argentina, DRC, Zambia, Greenland, Rwanda, Uzbekistan) and on ii) countries of interest for a future partnership (Brazil, Indonesia, Philippines, Serbia, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda) as well as iii) countries identified by EU services as especially interesting due to evolving EU geopolitical and industrial interest such as the Western Balkans. Costs related to activities incurred in other countries may also be eligible, as long as they are considered necessary to contribute to the overall objective outlined above
