Objective
Quality of life in the EU is under pressure from increasing pollution. The objective of this project is to substitute petrol oils (reduce CO2 emissions) by. new compatible low viscosity (reduce fuel consumption) biodegradable engine an gear oils based on native poliolesters or water based polialquilen glycols, eliminating toxic triboactive additives (reduce particulate emissions). The innovative approach is to consider a system problem not a lubricant problem: the role of toxic EP/AW additives (Cl, S-Zn,..) will be taken by the use of tribo-reactive materials. The interactions between the polar ecolubricants with understoichiometric coatings , self lubricant and triboximaterials (understoichiometric oxides, TiCrO, FeCrO, TiO) will be studied to apply to reduce friction, wear, noise and vibrations in land and marine transport.

Topic(s)
Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme
Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
