Improved nde concepts for innovative aircraft structures and efficient operational maintenance

Objective

A first work package 'Laser Ultrasonic' establishes a platform as basis for technology know-how in Europe. A next task deals with optimisation of LaserUS technique subsystems (higher laser generation efficiency to test thick composite structures, higher detector sensitivity, increased speed). Developments will be validated using the platform. Industrial applications will be developed and tested. The second package addresses improvements of non-contract (Thermography, Shearography, Digital Radiography) and contact techniques like URS and EC. The developments concern new heat loading methods for Thermography, the adaptation of Shearography to rough industrial environment and daylight conditions, a film-less digital radiography system. EC testing will be improved using new sensors and array probes, URS by introduction of new signal processing methods.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
