EUROPEAN APPLICATIONS IN SURGICAL INTERVENTIONS

Objective

EASI uses health care telematics to assist the interdisciplinary tasks of image-guided surgery (IGS), involving professionals from surgery, radiology, and imaging sciences. Established methods for pre-operative surgical planning will be extended to IGS in neuro-and vascular surgery, in which prior three-dimensional viewing of injuries and the surrounding anatomy will underpin a surgical plan for transfer onto patients via registration tools. During surgery, the plan will be tracked and updated in the light of progress and changes in the patient's condition. The project will boost the cost-effectiveness of surgery, while reducing its risks.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.
