Objective
For the industrial production of feed, a correct mixing resulting in an homogeneous feed and the avoidance of cross-contamination (carry-over of additives) from previous batches into the following feed batch contribute significantly to the quality and safety of the feed. However available methods for measuring homogeneity and cross-contamination encounters several difficulties and suffers from many disadvantages. This project aims at designing a new method for homogeneity and cross-contamination measurement in feed industry. To reach this objective, the consortium will test new potential methods; select them through successive trials from laboratory and pilot scale trials to industrial validation; and simultaneously compare these new methods to six existing ones to finally select the most suitable method, which could be further developed as a European standard.
