Objectif To demonstrate a novel range of modular microcontrollers and software reducing energy costs and installation costs. The system consists of a large range of subminiature microcontrollers linked via a duplex communication network to a central computer. Object is the energy manangement in the Blackrock clinic hospital (120 beds; Ireland). The network uses the existing main wiring in the building eliminating costly hard wiring. The expected energy savings are appr. 20%. Further a saving of IRl 10000/y is expected on manual monitoring maintenance.Innovative aspects: wide choice of duplex communication networks, avoiding costly hard wiring and large range of controllers avail.
