Software Quality Assessments and Recommendations

Objectif

The aim of this project is to improve software quality in four software producing units from Central and Eastern Europe. This will be done by:
assessing the software producing unit's position compared to other similar units (sites, projects) in terms of organisation, methodology and technology, identifying the key areas in their software development process where improvement is most needed
defining an action plan with clear recommendations to improve their software quality
providing guidance during the implementation of the action plan. The project will use the BOOTSTRAP method, which will itself be improved through additional support for action plan definition and guidance during implementation.

The project builds on the results of ESPRIT project 5441 (BOOTSTRAP).

INFORMATION DISSEMINATION ACTIVITIES AND EXPLOITATION

The exploitation of the results will be achieved through:
improved software quality in four user organisations
continuing use of the method by the four user organisations to further improve software quality in their organisations
application of the software quality improvement method to other organisations as a commercial consultancy service
dissemination of the results of the project to the BOOTSTRAP community.
