Project for recognising professional skills for the purposes of continuing education

Objetivo

In keeping with the latest European trends in continuing education, the aim of this project is to help people seeking vocational training to select an individual training path. The objective is to validate skills already acquired though personal, or even informal experience and adapt training courses to meet the real needs of the trainee. The partners propose to jointly design and test a professional skills approval system. This methodology will be designed and tested by synthesising the best existing methods.

The partnership, which includes training organisations and trade-union institutions, will conduct the project under the joint supervision of training professionals and user representatives. The methodology will be tested in training courses for job-profiles jointly defined by the partners during a previous European project (Euroqualifications). At the end of the project, if the trials are successful, the partners will offer training professionals a validated methodology and, possibly, evaluation software that will be transferable from one sector to another.

Impact
By providing continuing training professionals with a professional skills approval and validation method, this project will help adapt training courses to meet trainees' real needs.
