Rheocasting: an innovative and ecological process for light and cost-effective applications in different industrial sectors

Objective

European legislation is pushing more and more the industrial world towards ecological and safe production, and efficient recyclable products that will reduce pollution. Moreover, energy consumption reduction, performance increasing, cost reduction together with an increasing environmental sensitivity are the requests of main consumers.

The objectives are:
1)Development at industrial level of NRC process for a wide range of light alloys and components Development and optimisation of advanced aluminium and magnesium alloys;
2) Manufacturing of parts in different industrial sectors and forecast of extension of applications in other important industries;
3) Assessment of component quality and cost efficiency;
4) Validation of the overall "life cycle" impact reduction of the New Rheocasting Process with respect to the competing production systems of today, by minimising scraps, reducing energy consumption and maximising the recyclability.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
