Minority effluent measurements of aircraft engine emissions by infrared laser spectroscopy

Objective

The goal of this project is to develop innovative measurement and analysis technologies, which are capable of reducing time and costs required for engine development. These new technologies will be in accordance with present ICAO regulations. These apparatus will bring to the aeronautics community original developments in infrared coherent sources specially designed for effluent trace detection. These setups will be compact, ruggedized and affordable. They will be extremely valuable tools for engine research and atmospheric impact studies. The technology developed will strongly support the development of the environment friendly next generation aircraft. Economically it will help to bring innovative technology to the market matching environmental needs as well as the demand of the worldwide competition in the aeronautics industry.
